Arranged Marriage: A Jemi Love Story S1 E5

With Joe, after his parents tell him he's getting married. He doesn't know who yet.

Joe: The FUCK?! So just cuz some poor assholes are in crisis I have to get married to the goddamn motherfucking girl?!
Denise [Mrs. Jonas]: JOSEPH! ENOUGH. What's done is done! We are going to meet her Saturday, and that means tomorrow. The engagement is tomorrow itself and she'll be coming home with us. Alright? Behave well, Joe. I'm counting on you.
Mr. Jonas: Be ready, son. *They leave*
Joe: *Under his breath* Fucking sons of bitches.
Nick: *Heard him* Whoa, calm down, dude. Look on the bright side. Now you won't need to go out and look for a girl to fuck, she'll be right there. *Snickers*
Joe: *Can't help but chuckle* Good one. *They knuckle touch*

Later In the night, with Demi in bed.

Diana: I'm sorry, sweetie. But we just can't pull through right now. We need as much support as we can get.
Demi: It's okay. I think I overreacted, anyway. And besides, though I'm getting married, I'm glad its Kevin.
Diana: *Smile fades* K-Kevin?
Demi: *Starts getting concerned* Y-yeah. I'm getting married to Kevin, arent I?
Diana: Honey, no. There's far too much of an age difference between the two of you. I was hoping Denise would allow to get you two married, but we didn't want to get the law involved. [Pretend it's illegal people] The best I could get you was Joe. It's Joe you're getting married to.
Demi: What?! MOM! Why, mom, why?!
Diana: You two are the perfect age. And the misunderstandings you two have with each other can clear up and you two will learn how to get along.
Demi: No, mom! That can never happen! A guy like Joe, and a girl like me can NEVER get along!
Diana: You two are gonna have to.
Demi: Mom, if you think- *Voice cracks, Diana cuts her off*
Diana: I'm sorry, hon. Please, for me?
Demi: *Closes her eyes and two tears fall out, as she tries to take it all in* Fine. *More tears fall*
Diana: Oh, my baby. I'm truly sorry if you can't see that. I don't want to ruin your life. But, I'm trying to save two. *She puts Demi's head in her lap, and Demi sobs* Let it all out. Just let it all out.

After 15 minutes she stops.

Demi: Please, mom. Don't make me do this. *About to cry again*
Diana: *Kisses her forehead* I'm sorry, love. The best of luck to you. *She walks out of her room*
Selena: Demi, just go to sleep. Rest. You've had a long day. *Walks over, kisses her cheek and hugs her at the same time. She slowly parts from her and gets back into her own bed*
Demi: *Silently cries herself to sleep*

Next day, Selena is getting Demi ready. After she's dressed, Demi tells Selena to go away for a little while because she wants some time alone.

Demi's POV
I was looking at myself, standing in front of the mirror. This is it. These are my last few days I can enjoy being a single teenager. After the engagement, I'll have to move in with HIM. I'll only be a maid to him. Nothing good will come out of this. For me, at least. The only thing he'll actually want me for is maybe my body. It's not like I have a choice, anyway. And if I do, its either 'Get Married' or 'Get Married'. This, to me, wasn't a marriage. A marriage consists of LOVE, TRUST, HAPPINESS, PASSION, HONESTY. What I am about to do here has none of that. To me, this was a business deal. My marriage, their money. Basically, I was a sellout. I was so lost in my thoughts, I never noticed Selena was calling me from downstairs. [BTW-- Demi doesn't know she's getting engaged TODAY]

Demi: What?!
Selena: They're here! Come down and answer the door!

Time to ruin my life. When I opened the door, it was only his parents.

that, minus the gloves, masks, and the hair updo. Demi's hair is straightened black, like it is now, and So is Selena's when she had long hair and bangs.
