And the blue dress she wears when she goes to town with Eric is inspired by two princess as well.
The top is inspired by Briar Rose's outfit, when she was hiding in the forest and the legth of the skirt is the same as Snow White's yellow dress. The blue color was inspired by Cinderella's blue ball gown.
Now you know something that almost nobody knows!

@DjCelsGroupies the red hair was because it could work with the cool tones of the sea and the bright vibrant colors of the land above without changing the color to match the tone. the pink dress...i guess they thought well lets give her something other than sea tones for one dress and then the rest of her outfits are blue green and purple on color.

I remember seeing this at a theater once. When Ariel and the prince first started to dance everyone in the auditorium started oohing and aaahing at the exact same time. It was so cool and I just love this whole show! Thanks for uploading.
