An explanation for the haunted swing could be a natural phenomenon called "Mechanical Resonance" in combination with Vortex Shedding

maybe caused by the fact that this swing is in between to others, making it similar to a wind-tunnel

  • i'ts not ressonance it's aeroelastic flutter

  • It has nothing to do with vortex theories. They put an inflatable dome over it and did wind tests. The middle swing was measured and was found to have a bit more surface area to catch the wind easier.

  • AEROELASTIC FLUTTER!!!!!!!

  • FACT OR FAKED ... -_- they already solved this its fake..

  • Thumbs up if you're only arguing for aeroelastic flutter because of something you stumbledupon

  • what's the song called?

  • it did the same thing no wire or nothing

  • ive been there when there wuz no wind

  • Its not vortex shedding :o its Airualastic flutter

  • no it was eroelastic flutter

  • last time i checked, only oscillating items i.e. waves, could have resonance, and last time i checked, swings are not waves. (also, this is called aeroelastic flutter.)

  • I also get here from Minute Physics. Thanks to him, I now know it's aeroelastic flutter. However, this video got something right. There are no ghosts.

    Science rules.
