Flexinol muscle wire on wizard hat

I'm creating a prop for a DragonCon '11 costume.

The basic concept: wizard hats are living parasites that create magic while feeding on their host. I've made an aluminum and music wire frame, stretched cloth over it, and have attached Flexinol muscle wire to the hat's "talons".

The movement is slight, but it'll show up a lot better once it's covered in fake skin and the actual claws are added to the tips of the music wire.
