Live recording, The Hague, The Netherlands, February 2008.

Carlos Fariñas, former teacher and later colleague of Gustavo Corrales Romero at the Instituto Superior de Arte in Havana, wrote his "6 Sones" in 1970-1980. The rhythms and melodies of these Sones are based on popular Cuban music styles like the conga, the traditional "son" and the "pregones" (merchants singing out the praise of their products). Possibly recorded for the first time by Gustavo Corrales Romero on his CD Palimpsesto in 2001, one year before the passing of the composer.
