It's Friday, December 18, 2009 and it's Train Night at Dave's. Tonight we are featuring the Great Northern Railway. We start with 3 mineral red boxcars in G scale, O scale, and HO scale for comparison. Next is a hard to find Marx brown Great Northern boxcar, an MTH GN boxcar, and a pair of Marx 3/16" boxcars (the red one is a repaint that I did). The real star of the show is Al's Glacier Green McCoy freight headed by a large E-2. This is a huge set with unique cars and trimmed in red. It ran beautifully all night. The next train is Charles MPC era Great Northern 4-8-4 with chuff and whistle. After oiling it easily pulled 20 cars. The GN diesel is a Lionel RS-3. Notice the MTH GN orange crane and tender. Up top you'll see a variety of HO scale equipment including the Empire Builder, multitudes of freight cars, and another crane. Hope you enjoy!
An Industrial Rail GN Livestock Car is in the train.
That Glacier Green train is my favorite.
