this movie shows an actual arthroscopic Bankart repair technique performed by Dr Soshi Uchida. We performed surgeries in the beach-chair position under general anesthesia. Three portals were utilized: posterior, anterior, and anterior-superior. To prepare the bone bed, glenoid insertion of AIGHL was decorticated. Subsequently, four Panalok loop suture anchors (Depuy Mitek) were placed at 5:00. 4:00. 3:30, and 2:30 positions. A looped No. 2-0 Proline was passed through the edge of the AIGHL with a Caspari suture punch. A No.2 non absorbable suture from the suture anchor was introduced through the AIGHL using an intraarticular suture-relay technique.

  • I had this and a capsular repair. 4 weeks after operation I was jumped on by someone out at a club and i lifted them up with both hands (while sling was loosely on) and threw them off. I was in no pain because i was drinking. However in the morning occassionally felt sharp pain, muscle twitches and aching and was sure that I had torn a ligament or something. My surgeon said it was highly unlikely unless it was in external rotation. Does anyone know how strong sutures are?

  • @ibreathCron it helped me. Jon "bones" and i had a little joke about shoulder operations.... it went something like this.. If you need a shoulder opteration your a cunt

  • had this done almost a year ago. i had three screws put in the joint and my physiotherapist explained that the surrounding muscles and tendons, which were stretched out after the dislocations, were cut and weaved back together to create a stronger, tighter hold around the joint. extremely painful healing, but well worth it!

  • @rullah28

there may be a few things wrong, i had the same problem. i ended up needed 3 different operations for my left shoulder i had a bankart lesion, a hill sachs lesion and a torn labrum. i have very very good insurance and it was a very costly procedure. without my insurance the operation alone would have been $31,000. let alone the time u spend in the hospital, and the drugs they give u, the drugs they prescribe u, the sling and the physical rehab, ect.

    good luck, hope this helped

  • can someone please tell me how this surgery costs? I have no insurance and I think I need to have this surgery done on both of my shoulders. They pop out sooo easy, sometimes when I'm sleeping.

  • at 38 seconds, is that the lesion? I am getting this surgery done the day after tommorrow, trying to get a mental picture of what's being done.
