BTW I almost said "when he's driving a car bomb" but that would have been in poor taste.
Hopefully this Iraqi madness will end soon!

Gordon answer your own question by searching for "iraq" "martyr" on YT and see how many hits you get that are videos of truck bombers by the "resistence" very willing to leave their families behind. Some of them tape the entire operation from packing the truck with exposives to the explosion. Is it possible that some of them are "tricked" by the Iraqis, possible but, by the the US doubt it.

arkgunslinger - I don't usually use YouTube to source facts, but within a few clicks I also found two videos which reinforced my own doubts - 'truck bomb' (00.32) and 'Irish Truck Bomb' (00.55). I don't see how market truck bombs in insurgent strongholds could qualify as martyr operations. Can you help me on that?

I can't pretend to know what's in the mind of a suicide bomber. I think most of these civilian targeted attacks are based on shia/sunni/kurd hostilities. The Bush adminisitration knows that Iraqi is turning into another Vietnam and the US public is ready to pull out of there. Continuing Iraqi on Iraqi violence will just keep US soldiers involved longer. you may want to watch v=UEG3i4c5ayU see ujamre's comment.

arkgunslinger - Thanks for the link. I think you hit the nail on the head when you say 'Iraqi on Iraqi violence will just keep US soldiers involved longer'. So, it concerns me that US advisors like James Steele in Iraq (see my web link in video info) have recruited ex-Saddam heavies to execute 'Iraqi on Iraqi' counter-insurgency operations.
