Bush is very likely a 'bad guy' and cares far more for for neo-conservative ideology than humanistic morality.
And by your counts, people a country can't justifiably (to them) shun leaders of other countries. That's kind of hypocritical if you support Bush - his whole war-promoting technique is based upon hyping up xenophobia in the public.
Sorry if I'm seeming rude here, I'm just fired up from this :P
What one world idealism? I thought it was more their useless fighting and prejudices between colonies and slavery of sentient robot-races that kept landing them in trouble? That, and their lack of willingness to understand the cylons (and the other way around). I hope you've been watching Season 4 because that is the whole point of the plot... (Re: the humans and cylons reaching Earth together)
Yeah, I thought that was interesting since it was exactly the type of one-world idealism that keeps landing the Colonial Fleet in trouble. I'm sure we'd be great friends, I just hate attacks on people who don't deserve it. Bush isn't a bad guy. Certainly not "ew" worthy and definitely not from people not under his leadership. <3
Under a bit of research, I found that the NYC Police force has 35,800 approx. positions, while the Canadian military (ACTIVE plus RESERVE) is 110,000 so yes, being 3% the size of the American military may make you feel oh so happy about yourself, while we actually try to take care of our own society (how're your banks?).
Through what? Military complex contracts and playing middle-eastern countries against one another? I'd prefer the Canadian military if anything thanks.

Meanwhile, there may be war crimes charges now for top Bush officials. Fun times.
BTW I love Battlestar too! :D

Your military does have its perks. Being smaller than the NYC Police force, its quite manageable and affordable.

Good thing Canadians can't vote here. They'd have noone to defend their country.
