His poems have been widely translated into many of the world's languages in various formats, and BBC News has described him as the "most popular poet in America"
On this occasion Iranian musician Shahram Nazeri was awarded Légion d'honneur and Iran's House of Music Award for his renowned works on Rumi masterpieces.

Rumi's poetry transcend any religious views. We don't know what is Rumi's view on gay love, If you asking what is view on gay love of Muslims that's a totally different question. In his time many thing that Rumi talked about very considered antiislamic, I don't know about present views.
