"Smoke Free" Cigarette Debate

Some smokers who wish to quit are now praising the controversial e-cigarette, which simulates the effects of smoking. But, as Karina Mitchell reports, U.S. health officials are less optimistic.

I was a heavy tobaco smoker for 32 years, I have not had a tobaco cigarette in 30 days. First time I quit that long in my life, I am using e-cigarettes.

I was a 26 year smoker. I was diagnosed with Emphysema 18 months ago. I tried the patch, Ch*ntix, and the gum. Nothing worked. 6 months ago I was at Stage 3 Emphysema with 42% lung capacity. I was 6 months away from an oxygen tank. I have always enjoyed smoking. It was comforting to me. I didn't want to quit. But for my wife and children, I had to. 33 days ago I started using an e-cigarette and stopped regular cigarettes. I am now back to stage 1 Emphysema and 72% Lung Capacity. These work!!!

The nicotine from these e-cigarettes are not derived from tobacco, so it would be a safer than real cigarettes which contain thousands of deadly chemicals.

I paid 111.00 for 2. Come with a usb charger 4 different flavors of the liquid that will last around 4 months. So I did the math and I spent a fraction of what I would have spent on cigarettes. I think sense the liquid is affordable they will find a way to tax the shit out of it to make up the money they are losing from people not smoking any more. Thats all this is about one word: MONEY.

Exactly, it isn't the nicotine that is dangerous. It's the tar in the smoke that kills. These things are a godsend to so many smokers, only problem are theyre so expensive.
