  • Brazllianaluv...thank you for sharing your family history. I will pass your message onto Ms. Rose. May I ask. . . is it possible for you to share copies of some of the photographs that you mentioned? I do lectures and write articles and I would use the images to educated people of our past. . . and I will not use the pictures for personal profit.

May God Bless you and your family.

  • Hello T/U #001,

Thank you for your comment. I will pass it along to Ms. Rose. Sadly, in part, I must agree with you in regards to your statement. Kids today, not as a whole, seem to be misguided as they grow up. Hopefully, with a good peer, our youth can over-come these daily hardship.

    Best wishes,

    Jack

  • Hisstoryinyou, Thank you for your comments. Ms. Rose knew her grandmother, Former Slave-Martha Fisher. Rose's grandfather died before she was born. She has told many stories that she learned from Martha. I do not have the exact date that you are asking to obtain. I will, however, purge my files and also, contact Ms. Rose, to get you an answer. I want to wish you and your family a Happy New Year. Jack

  • Eddie, Merry Christmas and thank you for leaving a short message for Ms. Rose. She will be celebrating her 96th birthday in about three weeks. I will let her know that you watched her video.

    Best wishes,

    Jack

I couldn't imagine being a child and having to work so hard. Shoot I use to complain about cleaing house on Saturday mornings.

BTW We need to listen to our elders they have so many important stories to tell. Great vid!

  • She's beautiful!

And she was 93 years old?! She still has a youthful glow!

Imagine if she'd never experienced hatred, she may live to be 200+ years like the Obas in Benin.

  • Pt 2: and his head is hanging down, (painful sight) and he is holding a whip, i have photos of slaves to be sold, just many photos i never thought could be real but they are, please, please

  • my great grandfather was beaten then put in a huge put of hot scalding water by willie lynch, i received a lot of old photos that were handed down to me i cry when i look at them but i pride myself on the collection of history, there are 3 photos of the real willie lynch next to a tree with a salve tied to it bleeding

  • I have been studying slavery for the past two months. I studied before, but this time it is with more and better understanding. I just wanted to say thank you to you and your ancestor for the heroes they were. I find it ridiculous that someone can be hated by the color of their skin. It tears me up every time I have to explain in a piece of paper about slavery. I will pass it on to my children that heroes are not (only) the ones in our history books. Thank you for sharing this video.

  • Idk y but this had me tearin up...i typically do that when i hear sweet old ppl tho
