Shannon Quartet - Red Wing

I am not sure of the exact date but the number would place it sometime in 1926.

The Shannon Quartet was not associated with the upbeat, jazzy sounds of the era as is exemplified by this recording. The group, whether named the Shannon Four or Shannon Quartet, more often recorded traditional fare rather than the new songs of the 1920's. There are a few exceptions to this, such as Swinging Down the Lane.

In the mid-1920's Victor issued Shannon Quartet discs as well as Revelers discs. It seems likely that an older generation bought Shannon Quartet records, while a younger one bought Reveler discs.
