@drivera4295 But at the same time plastic poses easier and doesn't chip paint. They still make die-cast mecha toys (the Soul of Chogokin line, for example), but they tend to be high priced.
There where plastic GoLions/Voltrons, too.

The golion toy was way better than the matchbox because it came with weapons, not only the blazing sword, but also weapons for each individual lion. My cousin got this version and I was always jealous

The show came out in 1982 in Japan, but it's still a cool ad.
