I believe in respect for traditional marriage AND respect for all! Yes on Prop. 8!

Do you feel like I do? I believe in respecting the identity and choice of all Californians AND in respecting the sanctity of traditional marriage. Regardless of how you think marriage should be it IS discrimanation.

You say you love traditional marriage. That's absolutely fine - you can get a traditional marriage (if you don't have one already) and enjoy all the other traditional marriages you witness around you. But why not also allow gay people the right to marry. It would not affect your traditional marriage.

How do you show love and respect for everyone while denying them equal rights? I'm a woman married to a man and the gay marriages that have already taken place have in no way harmed my marriage. You can't respect all beliefs and deny gay marriage because many beliefs include gay marriage.

This is very sad. My life has nothing to do with yours. Nor does my marriage. I was thoroughly disappointed with the passage of Prop 8. We are living under the Christian Taliban. Land of the Free indeed! What a joke.

@JeremiahA40 You really feel that way about single parents? My aunt is a single mother of three. She won mother of the year in her town. All her daughters are college graduates. It was still really tough though to raise three girls. She obviously couldn't pay for all of their schooling. Now they have loans. Not to mention the fatigue from raising three girls. You know what could have helped? A second parent, regardless of gender.

Those who opposed Prop. 8 saw themselves opposing discrimination. This is false.

Those who opposed Prop. 8 stated that traditional marriage does not exist. This is false.

Those who opposed Prop. 8 wish to deny a father or a mother to a child. This is sadly true.

I have 2 questions for those who say YES to Prop 8.

1) Why do gay people not deserve to share the same institution as you? Did they do something that doesn't let them share "marriage" with you? Just because you want a "traditional marriage" doesn't mean it's right.

2) If I (i'm not gay, but if i were) got married to someone of the same sex, what's it to you?
