Trading my old 96 SC2 for an 07 Mustang GT Premium

My old Saturn SC2 had around 196,000 miles on it and it broke down in front of the Ford dealer. So I traded it in for a brand new 2007 fully loaded Mustang GT Premium. I've had the Mustang for about two and a half years now and I've never regretted it. The Saturn was fun and quick for a 4 cylinder, and the mileage was good, but the Mustang GT is a heck of a lot nicer and runs like a bat out of hell. I don't know what I like better, the way it hauls ass, of the Sirius satellite radio.

Oh hey, no biggie, I wasn't taking anything insulting, its cool. The way I learned to drive at high speed 'inches' from other cars in heavy traffic was from an old friend I used to know that had a 69 Mustang with a 351 under the hood. This was right after I had a bad car wreck and was scared to drive fast for a while. So, one Friday night he took me down Central Expressway in Dallas Texas in heavy traffic at around 100-110 mph doing three lane changes. It scared the holy crap out of me.

But it eventually got me used to the sensation of speed again. He would start to change lanes when only half of his car was clear. The guy was totally nuts!! But he knew how to do it and he did it how you might see it in a movie or something. And I learned how to drive that way if the need ever came up. The ONLY reasons I do it now is if I need to get to the hospital etc etc or if some road rage lunatic is trying to chase me. But I prefer driving fast now, on a wide open hwy with no traffic.

I'll never forget the first time the Saturn salesman showed me the plastic doors. He leaned over and beat the crap out of the body with his fist and the car just sat there like it didn't care. I was like WTF????? Then he pushed in the fender wells and I was like "OMG!!! It was cool because the whole time I owned both my SC2s, I never had to worry about door dings.  It seems odd that they stopped making them like that because I thought it was a brilliant idea. It really helped the weight.

I mean you got quite few older people who've driven along time and still really can't drive I have about hour ride into college and I always see these older people who cant drive right on the highway always cutting people off merging without looking going faster then they can handle and end up jamming on the brakes and then the most annoying are the ones that completely stop on the highway its like wtf are you doing..then you got the ones who switch lanes back and forth just to get ahead 2in lol

Tell me about it. Around here, people drive like total idiots, not watching what they're doing or being safe about it. The younger drivers dont know the proper way to drive fast and the elder drivers often times dont watch out for other drivers. I know how to drive fast in heavy traffic, but its something I ONLY do in an EXTREME emergency, like trying to get to the hospital or something. I was taught by a guy back in the late 70s how to handle a car at high speeds in panic situations etc.

lmao idk if id be scared or not since I zone out alot so id probably be staring off somewhere and wouldnt even notice=P if im in passenger seat I just dont pay attention to anything idk why=P

btw you know whats lighter the 96 SC2 or the 99-02 bodies? I think the 99-02 bodes are I think its lil smaller the only thing metal on mine is basically the hood lol rest is like 3/4 inch of plastic lmao

The few times I've beaten a bike, I can only guess what was going through their minds, because unless you're driving a super fast car, it doesn't happen much, if ever. Usually the times it has happened, I was already going around 70 (which is the sweet spot for passing gear to kick in) and from there, the climb was easier to stay ahead of the bike. It's only happened around 3 times, but its always a rush when it does. Especially when you look down and see where the speedo is moving.

Ill give you props for beating bikes in a straight away then=P thats fairly hard to do for any car. Also I guess its just where you are like around here we got a Giant Ford Dealership that has about 20-30 mustangs sitting out front that get sold off daily so just about everyone has a mustang sitting in their yard and im just sick of looking at them basically. Also kids always slow down after around 90-100 lol. Also gotta consider its not just kids lot older people wont do 155+ either lmao.
