OBAMA HOPES TO PERSUADE ALL AMERICANS TO ACCEPT HOMOSEXUALITY - News Report, A.P.
WASHINGTON, DC - President Barack Obama says that while he's dedicated to expanding homosexual rights, many Americans still cling to what he calls "worn arguments and old attitudes."

At a White House celebration of Gay Pride Month, Obama said he hopes to persuade all Americans to accept homosexuality. ""There are good and decent people in this country who don't yet fully embrace their gay brothers and sisters -- not yet," said the president. "That's why I've spoken about these issues -- not just in front of you -- but in front of unlikely audiences, in front of African-American church members."

Obama acknowledged that many Americans still disapprove of homosexuality. "There are still fellow citizens, perhaps neighbors or even family members and loved ones, who still hold fast to worn arguments and old attitudes," he stated...

The audience at the White House ceremony included Episcopal Bishop Gene Robinson and other homosexual clergy. Obama introduced Robinson as a "special friend."

NO ONE can say "God made me this way" regardless of you being gay or an alcoholic. God did not make you or me, nor anyone else with anytype of evil whatsoever!

It would be aweful IF we had a God that would purposly create us to be born with evil.

Genetics have proven that alcoholism runs in families BUT God did not make me an alcoholic, even though I loved being drunk. Did my father effect me biologically? Don't know BUT I still chose to drink. God delivered me AND HE WILL DO THE SAME FOR YOU

Nobody made themselves gay..it is something they discovered. They chose to act on that knowledge of themselves. It was not a choice. They chose their homosexuality no more than others chose their heterosexuality. Anybody who reads the bible knows it calls homosexuality a sin...along with sex outside of or adultery inside of marriage. It is a difficult thing to call sin sin nowadays. If people call sin out they are called intolerant. How do you respond?

Im 13, and i know that homosexuality is not a choice. Science found out that when men with certain hormones become homosexual. Homosexuality is perfectly right, just because a man wants a man doesnt make them evil.

Thank you for this....You are right, The Christian religon's morals have held us together. But also some mis-interpretations of biblical words are holding us back. I am not christian, but my religon has the same moral values. I respect your religon very much. I think what is holding us back is the "gay & lesbian" beliefs. Some churches are still clinging to it, and ruining the christian word.

So you rely on the Pauline New Testament to condemn homosexuals. Most people would consider enslavement as one of the worst crimes against another human; an abomination if you will. Yet Paul concentrate condemning homosexuals, ensuring that wives are subject to their husbands and supporting the Divine Right of Kings to Rule etc. Do you think it is wise to use the NT as your moral guide when it does not condemn the institution of slavery. St Paul was a better Roman then a human being.

@ padraigomairtin ... God repealed the dietary & ceremonical laws in the book of Colossians, but He never repealed the morals laws. That's why it's no longer a sin to eat pork or shellfish, but it is still a sin to murder or commit homosexuality. Slavery in the Old Testament was "indentured servanthood" to pay for debts ... not inter-generational slavery like America. You would know that if you spent as much reading the Bible as you do watching tv, playing computer games, and picking your nose.
