I keep running past the field and down to the parking lot, not caring how immature I seem right now. How could he do this to mom?!? How can he disrespect her like that?!? How could he do this to our family?!? I lean against a pole and shut my eyes, trying to get myself to calm down before I go back there and throw that son of a bitch over those bleachers and then beat the snot out of him.
My eyes open and I see Mariana standing in front of me. Oh no.
Mariana: Are you okay?
Mariana: What's wrong?
-Nothing. I just want to get out of here.
Mariana: Okay. Come with me.
Avery! This girl is the one you've been crushing on for months and you finally have your chance to go somewhere with her and what do you say?!? Why?!?
-I mean, sure.
She takes my hand and I smile. She leads me to the school and goes to open the door.
She rolls her eyes and takes a bobby pin from her hair and puts it in the lock. A second later we hear a click.
Mariana: For a private school, the security's crappy.
I open the door for her and she flashes me a smile before she grabs my hand and pulls me inside. We walk down the dark, vacant halls as she leads me down a staircase and to a room. One broken bobby pin and some foul language on her end later and we're inside. I flip on the lights to realize we're in the music room.
-Why'd you take me here?
Mariana: I just know whenever I'm frusterated, music helps.
She sits on top of Ms. Daidone's desk and I sit next to her. She grabs one of the guitar cases and some sheet music, handing both to me.
Mariana: Go on. You need your practice for next week.
I hesitate, but then begin to play "I Told You So". The two of us begin to sing. When we get to the final chorus, I feel her staring into my eyes.
Avery&Mariana: I told you so, Oh I told you so. I told you some day you'd come crawling back and asking me to take you in, I told you so, but you had to go. Now I've found somebody new and you will never break my heart in two again.
I let my hand off of the guitar and lean in, kissing her. She instantly deepens it, wrapping her arms around my neck. I set down the gutiar quickly before pulling her closer to me. This is the moment I've been waiting months for. The moment I dreamed about. And it's just as amazing as I always thought it would be, if not more. This girl is an angel. From her beautiful blonde hair and blue eyes, to her voice of an angel and finally, her soft, lucious pink lips. Finally she pulls off and rests her head on my shoulder.
Mariana: What took you so long?
I smile and wrap my arms tighter around her.
-I don't know. I hate rejection.
Mariana: Well you don't have to worry about that.
I nod and kiss the top of her head. Once I do that, she looks back up at me and our lips connect once again.
Avery and Mariana. :) This is the song they were singing:
