Your archers kept running around and didn't listen to your commands, because they were in skirmish mode. Always turn it off for better results, especially in siege battles.

Your hastati didn't charge through gate because they were on "Guard", use it only if you want to defend specific location. For movement, charges and pursuing fleeing enemies always turn it off.

You are doing pretty well I must say, but what would have been better is if you would have let the other faction members gain some experience. I know Flavius is good but I left him in Segesta when I played this. I used Vibius to take over Massalia and I used Amulius to conquer Narbo. It gives your people more experience which is good
