Shira receiving a cough assist treatment. Please consult your doctor, respiratory therapist and physio therapist to devise the appropriate Chest Physio Session for your child. Shira receives the cough assist treatment 2 times per day and up to every 4 hours if ill. I use the cough assist throughout the day as Shira needs it. The cough assist is our friend!

Thanks for posting this. I'm a nurse working with ventilator dependent patients in the home setting, but some equipment are new to me like the cough assist. It was for me to see someone actually using.

Wow, we can't believe someone else is living the exact life we are living!! What part of the US are you in? We are new to Youtube and live in Pacific Northwest, Oregon and would love to meet other SMA families. Our Baby J also has SMA 1, 15 months old, has a G-tube, uses cough assist, has trach and vent and is doing okay, some ups and downs and a great smile all the way. Looking at your video is like looking into our own life, a mirror into his world..his room, etc. Even the flower!!
