The kids caught a kingfisher, which they hoped to care for in the compound. But they lost it too soon. We were all sad that it probably died while in transit or in migration. If only there was some science schooling for birds regarding dangerous species of their staples and areas that abound with sources of poison; particularly, with poison potency related to a frog's dietary intake as in poison dart frogs. I wonder if perhaps older, more experienced birds give travel advisories to the younger ones.
Next time we or anybody find an ailing bird, I guess it wouldn't hurt to give it sugar. Hopefully, it is not diabetic.
