i dont have the tool icon:( my imovie must be an old one. do i have to update it or what?

everytime i import a vdeo it shows as the whole video at the bottom and not a bunch of clips like yours also , how do you slow down the music with the clip because when you do slow motion on the video and add audio, the audio remains the same.
