This promo is not an ad, it was part of a documentary on caregiving that aired on PBS that we produced some years ago. The Green Houses in Tupelo accept title 19 residents and were a project of the local Methodist Church. They are not intended for the rich but as an alternative to traditional nursing homes They are less expensive to run and maintain than traditional nursing homes, even though the care is more humane and life affirming.

Greenhouse isn't supposed to be for everyone. Of course maintaining independence at home is the number one option.

But some people don't have that choice. Greenhouses are supposed to be a loving affordable alternative to traditional institutional almost jail like nursing homes. Thanks for your comment.

This should stand up to it's name Green House Nursing, they should add a hydroponic greenhouse in which they can grow their own food and participate in the daily care it takes to make the community truly Eden. Could you imagine their health boost they would get from the organic foods they would consume instead of all those processed foods and sweets. :O)Bless them all.

What you say is true but it is a by-gone morality but I see you are also driven only by capitalism. I believe as you say but this cost money that most elders do not have. America is driven by Darwinian Capitalism and so you advertize this only for the elders that have money to create profit for you. I really admire your faults advertizing of honor or elders id they can afford it. YEAH RIGHT !

Children should participate in taking care of "home" w/ Grandparents in it! This is a beautiful accomplishment! Bravo!

One of the most difficult aspects of getting a loved one medical care is nursing home financing. There are options available to help with the expenses when funds are needed. Not many people are able to fund medical expenditures out of their own pocket.

a lot of nursing homes have terrible food! it's made from food out of cans. either heavily salted or w/ very little salt..salt that isn't iodized. drinking water that burns your nose w/ the smell of chlorine. given juices out of little plastic cups, that have no flavor, just corn syrup. all of them on prilosec or protonix,...known to be directly correlated w/ pneumonia, fractures,& c.diff. ; or boniva/fosamax known to cause abnormal fractures. Nsg home bottom line, the drugs they prescribe
