Jazz vocalist extraordinaire Judy Niemack performing live at Jazz Standard (NYC) with master bassist Eddie Gomez, Jeanfrançois Prins (g, arr) and brazilian percussionist Café. Judy was one of the first (the first?) Jazz musicians to record a new version of Sting's beautiful song, dedicated to Chico Mendes, a Brazilian environmental activist who was murdered in 1988, while trying to preserve the Amazon rainforest ("Fragile" was featured on her CD "Straight Up", recorded in NYC in 1992).
This live version starts with a collective free improv. Special thanks to Yuko and Reggie for filming!
