People in India are upset about the film "Slumdog Millionaire" and I can see why.

  • We didn't bitch about them, but then again... our actors were highly paid and didn't actually live in those situations.

Those kids were exploited and not paid for a movie that grossed millions.

We bitch because those kids got to go back to poverty while the directors got rich.

Your comment is now the dumbest thing I have ever heard.

  • He bought a few kids houses, not all. Also, the movie was filmed in 2007 and he didn't buy the houses until he was pressured to do so in 2009.

    Too little, too late.

  • trainspottin is a film for adults not for obese big babies. if you are an unsuccessful filmaker, blame yourself.

  • I don't think that Slumdog was meant to be a realistic depiction or presentation. It was meant to be interpreted as a Dickensian, fairy tail version of India, where a pauper goes through trials and tribulations in order to win the heart of the beautiful maiden in the end.

  • what was the clip at 0:46

  • @ImaginedWriter LOL. Did you assumed India as the next poverty stricken African country or something?(Though there are many poor people)Malnutrition is extremely less here. Yeah, I understand your concern but India is pretty much more than what you think.

  • I think that we should stop making fun of Indians and send them food, we throw away a lot of food in America while a billion indians starve and suffer. Slumdog opened my eyes to the agony of living in India, a veritable hell on earth whilst we live in an almost new eden of plenty in the west.

What India needs is for us westerners to start paying attention and help them, first by sending food. Then teaching them science and how to make sewage systems properly.

  • I was born in the USA. and, out of curiosity I bought this movie on DVD a year ago. It is fantastic and I watch it over and over again. I really love India as I now have several friends (indian friends) in several cities. I chat with them all the time online. I wish to go see beautiful India and all of her progress. I will very soon. However, my country is biased and my country is selfish! India is so rich in culture I am going very soon to see it. Bravo to India. My money and heart go to India!

  • @ImaginedWriter if you want to know what India was really like back then, I dont know now, but for me it was like living this song every day: vennila chandanakinnam. Like a dream or something. If i ever get rich, then I plan on going back to India and getting a nice house built and living there and writing novels for the rest of my life.

  • @ImaginedWriter dot head? ha ha Westerners dont go to live in India b/c of the unemployment rate...so its hard to live there comfortably when you have a family to look after...but still it is the most beautiful country in the world if you're a kid, its like heaven on earth, if there was a heaven then I'd wish for it to be how it was in those days, the land itself is 100x more beautiful (atleast where I lived) than here, I've heard of people who came here got tired of living here and went back

  • @ImaginedWriter your face is probably funnier (looking) and those people facing poverty in India are probably living a life a million times more interesting than your boring suburban US life. if you really want to play like that then most Americans live and die as fat lazy slobs so why dont yall be kind and send some food to the poor indians "that live and die in poverty", hope you dont turn out that way sweety...unless you already are

  • @majonee15 No you won't go back home because you know India is a third world toilet, if you really hate it you'd leave. And I don't see hordes of Westerners going to live in India the way Indians swarm to Western countries. Try again dot head.
