@Medicalphiliac - His facial expressions were clearly not the only criteria. Both my parents are Deaf, and I'm reasonably good at spotting a Deaf signer as opposed to a Hearing signer, being that I have a lot of experience with both.

And... Even if HE can hear when it starts, you might want to figure out that his target audience of Deaf people would not hear when it started anyway.

@unicornnikita In that case, I feel I need to tell you that calling someone a "deaf/mute" is incredibly OFFENSIVE.... Almost as much as calling someone Deaf and Dumb. (Dumb actually means the same thing as MUTE in the original meaning of 'not being able to speak'). Deaf/Mute is a OLD term and you'd probably want to just use Deaf or Hard of Hearing.

@unicornnikita ... You did NOT just bitch about the timing of when the signing started for an ASL interpretation of a song... DONE BY A DEAF/HH PERSON. (BTW, you can tell he's almost certainly Deaf or HH by his facial expressions, his mouth movements and sounds, and the fact he signs so hard that his hands make a slapping sound sometimes that he ignores). Really? REALLY? Please, he can't hear when it comes in, so lets give him a break on starting early, okay? ;)~
