The government wouldn't know if the world is going to end. And if they do know something, they would release it in a movie, just coded. The government puts subliminal messages in movies all the time.

lets just look at the actual prediction of the mayans for a minute. 2012 is supposed to be the end of the 5th stage of humans. The first stage were gods who turned into the sun, moon, planets, stars, etc. the second stage ended when a big wind blew out the sun and they all died. The third stage ended when a big flood turned them all into fish. The fourth stage of humans were really short and turned in monkeys. If the world ends in 2012 then I'll be damned, that fish i had was actually an old guy
