DX Bakuryuu Gattai Abarenoh! DX 爆竜合体アバレンオー!

By the time Abaranger aired there hadn't been a Dino-themed series since Zyuranger. Mecha wise, there hadn't been much Dino activity in that time span as well. You had V-Rex Robo from Timeranger...and that is pretty much it. So let's see how Abarenoh holds up...

Abarenoh consists of the primary three Bakuryu (爆竜)...

1. Tyrannosaurus (Tyranno)
2. Triceratops (Kera)
3. Pteranodon (Ptera)

1. ティラノサウルス (ティラノ)
2. トリケラトプス (ケラ)
3. プテラノドン (プテラ)

Abarenoh comes with very few accessories. Included are tails for Tyranno and Kera as well as a small plastic piece that enables Kera's head to be used as the Tricerashield (トリケラシールド). The tails can be used as swords or combined into a larger sword, the Double Tail Sword (ダブルテイルソード). Ptera's feet become Abarenoh's helmet.

One of the biggest draws to Abarenoh has to be the motorized drill feature. Unfortunately, it doesn't live up to the hype. The drill is very slow and doesn't work too well a lot of the time.

So what are my overall thoughts on Abarenoh? Well, I hate it. Plain and simple, this is the worst primary Sentai Robot toy ever made. It's exceedingly ugly, the parts don't fit too well (helmet), it's very clunky and the motorized gimmick is beyond lame. By far...this is the worst.

Naturally Abarenoh saw an American release by Bandai America in the Power Rangers Dino Thunder Megazord line as Thundersaurus Megazord.
