This is from the Beyond Belief Conference of 2006. I have uploaded them in this format so that it may appeal to broad audience looking for both individual lectures and the entire series. Please, if you enjoy these, donate to The Science Network.

I urge you to check out The Science Network's site as it has more information about this and many other interesting subjects. They hold the copyright on this material (to my knowledge) and if they should want me to remove this, I will comply. In my defense, I just wanted to get this information out to as many people as possible.

  • @Narzedie7001 I couldn't disagree more. The idea that well produced, well made, inspirational documentaries, shows, movies,etc.. is very important. Look at the great success of the BBC productions like Planet Earth.

  • I recently saw news that Druyan, Neil Tyson, and Seth MacFarlane are doing a new Cosmos series that should start airing in 2013.

I'm curious to see how that turns out.

  • hmmm very interesting .... my views intertwine with a lot of these Greats and yet this is the first time that I'm seeing it. 6 Years! later. >_<'

  • @thor25 and youtube, so long as it doesn't discriminate.

  • People like to be knowledgeable and smart.. but lose the notion of being challenged or to think critically when there is instant gratification in the form of catering to their sexual/dramatic/spiritual needs.

  • "Television is a reflection of who we are" .. so true ...

Most popular shows these days :

    - Reality TV shows

    - 700 club - Pat Robertson

    - Beauty Pageants with increasingly dumber contestants.

If they spent half the advertising money that went into the superbowl half-time, on useful progams like Cosmos. Viewership will definitely go up.....

  • Her argument of production value to teach science, I believe is fallacious. Palatability is not something science is, nor aims. However, what science does, and does extremely well is this discussion. We are people who listen to debates, think about them, and consider the evidence. If you're looking to develop a 'television series' of science, you've already done it. Publish this.
