music, like language, acquires meaning through repetition and exposure. people who practice almost incessantly attach meaning to so many elements that ordinary people don't. i agree that it carries little to no artistic value, except for the composers/performers themselves, for whom the value of such work is practically sacred. i think it's both beautiful and sad... they hear and feel things no one else can.

Aria is entertaining, but that's about it.

@Bocbo You should do your research on John Cage. He's not just "fucking with the artist", as you put it... he wrote a piece of dead silence and to this day, it's for sale on iTunes. He loved SOUND and his main motive was for his listeners to appreciate the sounds of life, because that is what music is. Yes, to all who are asking, this piece is serious. I think it's a bit short sighted to say only musicians drowning in theory enjoy dissonant pieces, but, again, I suppose it IS all relative.

@chopper753 Then you mean to say the entire thing was interesting? I thought so too.

Didn't understand the last part... so it must be art

The piece at the end doesn't strike me as having much artistic value. . . And I love an extremely large amount of a wide variety of music. I've found that only musicians who excessively practice music enjoy such dissonant pieces, at least in my personal experience.. But it's all relative.
