RVtravel.com editor Chuck Woodbury ponders why an RV magazine in England is so thick, so packed with ads, while those in the USA these days are thin with far too few ads for their long term health. Comment here: http://goo.gl/UKWXF

  • I'd also ad that I envy them their magazines.

In this age of internet information I miss a good magazine

  • British magazines are - IMO - more informative and useful than American magazines in general.

Practical Classics focuses on interesting old cars that you can really use. Ads, information - how-to's...and it's a large magazine.

That MMM is a sucessful magazine is not a surprise. They put effort into it..their club publications are by and large top shelf...it's just something they do and do very well.

  • PS - the Brits are as passionate about camping/RVing as the Americans. UK Top Gear has done a few features about the British love of travel trailers, usually geared towards how much Jeremy Clarkson hates them, but entertaining nonetheless. The roads are crammed with RVs and T/Ts in the summer.

  • @lajuene No, there's at least five. See: motorcaravanning com/travel/magazines (I'd post a proper link, but youtube won't let me)

  • Maybe there are more outlets for the info in the US and it is spread around over many magazines etc. and maybe the Brits have only the one outlet for info. ?

  • cannat hear the audio barely

  • I found MMM (Out & About Live) on twitter @MMM_Magazine

Posts on their motorhomes forum go back to 2005.

  • Wish I could hear the audio

  • different culture down there

  • Nice to see an American giving the Brits a thumbs up. Agree with everything you said.
