Datsun 280ZX 'Turbo Driven' Commercial

This questionable commercial by Datsun features the new turbo 280ZX apparently drag racing a Learjet. It advertises a 0 to 50 time of 5.1 seconds. I know, WTF, right? I assume the whole 50 mph bit was due to the gas crisis, as I'm pretty sure that most respectable Learjets cruise well above that velocity.

280aden, I HAVE an '82 turbo that came with a 5-speed. Borg-Warner T5, and the bellhousing and smaller input shaft is the only real difference between the Mustang and Camaro's.

@ mklv(whatever) No, they did not. Turbo 5 spd models were only available in '83, which makes them very rare...though i know where one is...

uhh yeah they did have 5spd turbo cars before 83

yeah the Turbos didn't have 5-spds till '83 and the tranny was the same 5-speed that were in mustangs and camaro at the time.

I own an '83 2+2 NA 5-spd and still think there is something BIG missing from an automatic model
