Yesterday, On Oahu, Hawaii's top high school seniors, It was their big day of signing there letters of intent. A lot of football players said Coach Mac and his other coaches, went to their schools/homes. Which made them chose Hawaii over other top schools offered to them. Not to mention 2 boys from KAHUKU said they were not even thinking of playing for UH until Coach Mac went to visit them. UH is rebuilding... hopefully their is another BCS bowl game in the near future.
Hopefully, his departure has woken everyone up. Given the goings-on in the Big Square Building during and after the will-he-leave-won't-he-leave state of limbo last month, it seems like changes are being made. According to Stephen Tsai's blog, Coach Mack has new furniture in his office (all donated), and that alone has made a difference in recruiting.
Relax just saying that JJ never visited Kahuku for 9 yrs according to reports. Why? it's only an hour away from UH. For the last 3 years, according to coach Mac, Hawaii never left the island to recruit down South Pacific (Tahiti,Samoa etc...). JJ is one smart haole. Everybody blames Herman Frazier...lol... June was going to leave Hawaii anyway at the end of the 2007season because Colt stayed for his senior year, June stayed. UH had 9 yrs to fix the athletic facilities and it still ALLBUST
What the hell was JJ doing for 9 years.... Did he have something against Kahuku players? I myself, went to St. Louis, but their's a lot of talent coming from Kahuku.... A LOT OF TALENT!!! anyway good luck Coach Mac.. Go Warriors

Fair enough.

You say that as if June Jones didn't do anything when he was here.
Given the overall body of work, I'm willing to give Coach Jones a pass on his recruiting shortcomings.
