Wow, what a beautiful cover. I appreciate your rant. I had never watched the original music video before and I think this cover is a perfect example of how artists can put a different spin and perspective on songs. In Rihanna's case, I really believe she defined "hopeless" in a negative way (both parties were not ready for love) whereas the writer or a different singer such as yourself, add a positive connotation to the word, making the love (and song) actually feel hopeful. Nice job!
