Holy crap, I remember the song at the beginning -- it's from an old C64 game called "Light Force." I just dug my C128 out of storage, and, sadly, I've lost the disk for that game.

The highest I ever reached was level 78 and I was 10 points shy of 10k v.v, using a diagonal-style maze.
For some reason I can't even get close to that score again. Have to say though, your maze is quite the eye candy.
