I think I've seen this set up in a book I have, somewhere. It may be in one of my old scott books. If using an inflatable pad, on top of it, your really have to protec the base with other pads of some kind. Wood this size often has sharp branch remnants, which I'm certain you know. Excellent idea and your shelter looks bretty good. Sure would be welcome if you needed it.
