Fender Deluxe Reverb 74' is my favorite amp. It's alltube,hand-wired,withsome mods, such as Celestion G-12 speaker and a bigger output transformer, it pumps up about 40 watts(I've bought it with all those mods, and I like them) .In this video I played a 60th Anniversary USA Fender Strat upgraded with Fender Lace Sensor Pickups(Blue,Silver and Red). That was my personal choice, because my first Fender was Strat Plus, and I loved it).I didn't use any guitar effects.Just plugged directly to amp.I only used amp reverb.

  • What does an amp like that run for?

  • @LesterPaul01 I guess it's in a range of $1000 -$1500......sometimes you can find a cheaper deal, depends on condition.. hard to find, though, not too many left out there...

  • A couple of things first of all the amp sounds Absolutely A M A Z I N G !!!! I have a 74 and thinking about doing the same mods I I was wondering how many watts is the cone as there are so many G 12 models from Celestion and where did you get the transformer ? Thanks

  • @psykoelvis It has 70 watts Celestion G12 M-70 "Modern Lead" 12" Speaker. I've bought the amp modified with a new transformer. The original transformer was also included . All I can say is that a new transformer as twice as bigger than the old one. I guess it pumps up about 40 watts. I played small clubs and big stages....never had to turn the volume more than 5.

  • FANTASTIC clip! Your playing was great and the tone you get is wonderful. When you first started playing in the clip, what was the reverb set on (if you can remember)? What tubes are you running? Again, you sound great! Nice job!

  • @surfocaster Thanks man. I think it's been set it up to somewhere between 3 and 4. The output tubes are pair of matched 6V6 GT and RCA 5U4GB rectifier.

  • Nice !!

  • @UKToneKing Look into the Vibro Champ XD for a practice amp for classic Fender tones among others. You can turn the volume way down and it will still sound great. BTW Weber makes a headphone adapter for tube amps that you could into.

  • Love it.

Out of curiousity what is the average price range for a early '70s sfdr?

  • Sweet amp and that is some sweet picking...
