  • I love Asdown Boxes....but after all I prefer Hartke amplifters ^^

  • I am now the proud owner of a Spyder 550! Just received it today and took it for a little test drive and I love it. Very solid, very shiny, very loud. I was also very impressed by how cool it stayed the twin fans in the rear do a great job. My only initial complaint is that it doesn't have feet on the right side (if looking at the front) and that it didn't come with a user manual

  • @Vizillar2505 hahahaha

  • holy cow... holy cow... HOLY COW!!!!!!!

  • @asimovjoe Yes, I tried all combinations, and even with everything up full, active and passive basses tried in both inputs, it wouldn't get gritty. I already have a message in to the guys so am sure there'll be a response in due course. Great video by the way.

  • @walbassist Strange?! When I was doing the video I pretty much cranked the gain to full to get that sound - I take it you've tried turning it on full? I'll let the guys at Ashdown know and I'm sure they can get that sorted for you :)

  • This demo persuaded me to pick up a 550 head as well, as I absolutely love both the clean and overdriven tones. Only thing is, my amp won't overdrive at all, regardless of the bass (active or passive), input, tone or gain control settings I use! Weird eh?!

  • Wait, something that sounds that good, retails for around £500? Why did I not know about this before?!

  • @Yamazuki23 - Thank you! glad you like the video and thanks for the positive comment. Ive had quite a few amps over the years and I sold my Ampeg to buy my Ashdown rig (I can drop you a PM with the details of it if youre interested). Ive used it a hell of a lot now and honestly, it sounds better than anything Ive ever had and not once let me down. Its had some serious use too. I absolutely cant fault it!

  • @asimovjoe Great amp demo! Very straight forward and informative. I'm in the US and haven't really heard anything about Ashdown. So I was just wondering how reliable their amps are.
