Steve Reeves Tribute

Adrian Velasquez's Tribute to Steve Reeves my friend and mentor who unexpectadly died in my arms on May 1, 2000. I am currently writing a script about the behind-the-scenes life of Steve Reeves, arguably the most handsome man who ever lived, mistreated by those who judged him on his looks, a man who wants a family but has no life skills to develope one and the tradgedy that ensued.

Steve Reeves was the GREATEST of all bodybuilders. Age 16 , in 1943 , he was already great ; the pics prove it . Ed Yarick never charged him to work-out in his gym but we are to believe he had money for ROIDS ? Roids were NOT available in 1947 , when he won the MR. America or 1950 , when he won the MR. Universe . The first ROID in the US, DIANABOL , went to the YORK Barbell Co. olympic lifters and John Grimek , who had retired from compition by then . Steve said his looks were " HEREDITARY " !

I'm not sure where you got your information about Steve and steroids, I have never been led to believe from any source that Steve took steroids and he was the biggest proponent of natural bodybuilding. Do you remember Steve's open letter to Arnold published in Muscle and Fitness calling for Arnold to get off steroids and become a better example to all up and coming bodybuilders? I don't think you have to defend Steve to anyone.

If operating on second or third hand information, you have to consider the source..do you remember all the hubbub when it was made public that Arnold had lied in his book about missing his father's funeral because he was so dedicated to his training for his upcoming contest? I ask you, can you trust your information?

not to bust some peoples bubbles....but arnolds long time trainer and doctor since his young age at 15...wrote a book..quoting arnold saying something like...when arnold was young, in the early 60's(arnold was 15 or 16) i introduced him to steroids(dianobol and test the only used steroids at the time) everyone took them...he learned about steroids from one of his heros steve reeves.. im not saying you cant achieve this physique without them...but steve reeves did infact take anabolic steroids

Truly one of the most beautiful men, I have ever seen. Grew up in awe of Steeve Reeves, and he motivated me into body building. He is dead now. Just shows you, no matter what you do in life or how beautiful you are, are life's are all in vain, just like the Bible says. Live for Jehovah and his word, which is eternal.

@a:BS. Worse, not repeated accurately. "Arnold: An Unauthorized Biography" by W.Leigh: K.Mamul, (Arnold's 1st trainer, -not- doctor ), claimed that he, Mamul, met Reeves in France in '52, & Reeves taught him about steroids. IMPOSSIBLE: Reeves was in France in '48&'60,not'52, & denies ever hearing of Mamul until this accusation. Mamul's either lying or confused. Reeves set a standard for clean-cut, honest living. Mamul gave teen-Arnold drugs & now tries tries to defend his actions.Get real.

This is the best Steve Reeves video i've seen. Ive been a fan for a good while and i actually saw some pics ive never seen before. As for Reeves being on juice, I talk closely to one individual that was around in those times and says that in Steves younger days he wasnt on them for sure. question is did he use them in his later years like in his thirties and forties ect. I truly dont believe he took them since he looked always the same. Not even this guy is sure and hes defineltly reliable

@Heddernheim069 Since when is a 6'1" 215 lb man, (who was never shredded the way modern bodybuilders are), suspected of being on steroids? The accusation itself is a joke: 5'9" Jay Cutler walks around off-season at a still-lean 310! Virtually any 6'1" mesomorph in his late teens or twenties can weight-train himself to a lean 215 without drugs. Reeves' proportions just happened to look great at that weight , a quality drugs don't affect.
