A team of railroad crossing guards in Harbin spend most of their time watching traffic from the shade of their station house porch.
Their lives are punctuated by moments of authority that come with briefly halting traffic for an approaching train. Afterwards, the utility of the guards quickly falls again into the background of urban life.
The film was shot over the course of a day in August, 2010. I used a Canon Vixia HF M300.
