Hi all

The Wanderer is a song about redemption. A song about one man's search to find himself.

I think of June Carter as Johnny's saviour. She was his guiding light, his pathway to redemption, his soul mate and his salvation thru Him.

I have purposely made the video quite literal at times because the song tells a story and I wanted the video to follow that storyline and to bring the viewer in and involve them on an emotional level.

I have also used many photographs and edited and manipulated them to compliment the 'story'.

Sorry if the quality of the video has been affected by uploading, but I still hope you like it.

NOTE: Any posts with foul or abusive language will be removed. You can disagree with my interpretation (or anybody elses) of this song, but if you can't disagree without writing abuse then I will remove your post and ban you.

Show respect to other users, please :)

  • If this song hadn't happened, there's a chance that Johnny's whole collaboration with Rick Rubin wouldn't have happened. Johnny had one of the greatest late-periods of any artist in history, musical or otherwise.

  • U2's Best Song!!

  • @squeekyp10 Me too. I was really young at the time and kind of knew who Johnny Cash was, but still connected with me. I don't know why. Now that I'm older, this song resonates even deeper.

  • love the end of this song, wen u can hear bono`s vocals. brillant song writing by bono and u2.. and 2 get johnny cash 2 sing it makes it even better..

  • I love the vocalizations in the background throughout, always has been my favorite component of this song

  • @chigon89 He does! :0)

  • I remember hearing this for the 1st time in 1994 and it floored me, it still does today. They may not be Johnny's words, but I believe they matched his soul at the time. I like his version of Hurt, but this sounds like a song written for only for Johnny.

  • Who doesn't Johnny inspire?

  • So many great metaphores in this song..I like to write poetry my self..Johnny you are immortalized by your words and music forever...You are a legend who can never die..I will never forget you..When i hear you sing i think of my grandpa,,thanks Mr.Cash for that..Peaceout and godspeed
