Correct. Compressing air is very inefficient and is possibly the worst way to harness energy.

fucking awesome engineering mate, seriously good engineering!

ihave seen a comvesion article tha used a pop valve for the timing a pin was welded to the top of the piston that lifted a ball to let in the air/steam in to the piston, the engine was a two stroke and the exhaust went out on the one stroke
-
would it work better if the piston was partly spherical?

Use a coil of wire and the flywheel from a lawnmower or the like.
You may use the ignition coil frame, but only a few hundred turns at the most, and your electric valve.
In this manner you need no battery, the magneto will provide the power.
An old lawnmower motor could just as easily be converted, without any electric control whatsoever.
Enjoy!

this thing is a fucking ugly heap of dog shit

problem with these kind of technologies is that they have yet to prove that they can take harsh real scenario punishments.

None of the engines in any of his videos make enough power to do any useful work. All they can do is spin their own parts. No electricity generated of anything. No point in any of these. Air engine that runs on compressed air: how much work had to be done to compress the air in the first place? Way more work than you got out of it. These silly projects will not save the planet but only hasten its destruction.

@GREENPOWERSCIENCE You could easily stick some sort of microcontroller inbetween your read switch and the valve - even if the magnet was entirely in the wrong place, you could still advance/retard the digital timing to correct - AND, you could even change the pulse width, giving you better throttle control - For a quick start look into the arduino and motor shields (works with solenoids too) two POT's and 60$ later full digital timing message me if you were interested! would love to help!

Please check out my steam engine, homemade out of a 9cc aluminum air compressor, I used a weed eater flywheel so people are thinking i converted an engine, but its an air ride compressor from a caddy

why would u choose to put a message rite over the rpm gauge
