Keep your fingers out of that eye if it is truly pink eye you can infect the other eye and you should wash your hands before doing anything with asunmer pink eye is highly contagious...

If my eye is hurting, I get a washcloth with warm water. I close my eyes and put that on my eye until it is cold and it stops it from hurting.
