Sergio Leone followed his 'Dollars' trilogy and the epic "ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST" with this ambitious and sometimes abstract western comedy.

Ennio took moments to make fun of all the musical conventions he'd invented for westerns, now rife in every other composer's arsenal. This one starts amiably enough in a light manner with the crucial Alessandro Alessandroni whistling, before Edda lifts it unexpectedly into a beautiful melody that soars for glory by it's end.

In these days I had the good fortune to become acquainted with Edda dell'Orso since i played in the same benefit concert in rome with her and other artists. Now she is 75 but her voice is still incredible and unmistakable! She is also a very very kind and generous person.
