Pete Goss replicates a voyage undertaken 154 years ago. First stop Capetown. He leaves Newlyn as did the earlier intrepid fishermen who went to the goldfields in Australia and arrived in 1855 after 116 days at sea in a 37 foot fishing vessel 'The Mystery' There were 6 fishermen and a ships captain Richard Nicholls. He was half owner of the vessel and rather than sell the vessel volunteered to take the potential gold diggers in the 'Mystery', a first long ocean voyage for such a vessel.
