From Nov. 2, 2004, here is NBC News with Tom Brokaw (his last election report as anchor of the NBC NIghtly News) reporting as-it-happened election results. I started recording just after 8 PM EST. Also, I am cutting out all the local Cleveland break-ins to make this flow a bit better. This is part 1.

  • This is the first US election that I followed in any great detail. I must have been one of about 10 people in the whole of the UK (including Tony Blair) who wanted Bush to win. There was a real sense among people in Britain that Kerry would win, although in the US, even among Democrats, few believed Kerry could carry the key States needed for him to win the Presidency. I was so glad when it became clear that Bush was heading towards victory; I seriously doubted Kerry's suitability for the job.

Agreed, but on election night 2012, I think the MSNBC crowd will still find a way to blame Bush all the way through 2012!

  • @AmericanPatriot1994

You miss Dubya? I'm so sorry about your mental retardation; I hope you can still try to lead a semi-normal life.

  • BUSH stole this election too, like he DID in 2000 !!!!!!!!!!1

  • Dubya, I miss you!

  • Ifc there was ANYONE that Bush was better it was the empty suit that goes by the name Kerrey.

    Toatl dipstick.

If there is anyone in the country that had a lower IQ than Bush it would be Kerrey.

  • @billybudd94 that's because you were brainwashed by Republicans into thinking Bush was better than Kerry : (

  • @TheJayEffkay Well, I think they'll say that often because with early returns, certain parts of the state will come in earlier than others, that might skew more in one direction than another. But the predictions are that once more areas come in, the numbers will be much closer. It definitely looks odd at first glance, but it makes sense when you put it in consideration.

  • LMAO look at these two MORONS try to spin a 16% lead as close LOL

    NBC is truly pathetic...

  • @phantomsuccour You wrote conservative stations, not station. Besides FOX what other networks do you consider conservative?
