Waiting for a Petty Officer

Petty Officer Burkett shows how NOT to be a Petty Officer in the Coast Guard. This video won first place in the entire Coast Guard for the 2nd annual leadership video contest for the LDC. (only 12 entries.)

We spent 2 days filming, 8 days before the entry deadline. We filmed Thursday and Friday. I uploaded the 58 minutes of video to my Mac on Saturday. Bailey, Monaco and I edited it on Sunday. CO/XO approved on Monday. Over-nighted it on Tuesday so that it would be there at least by Thursday. Wasn't sure if we made it but the LT at the LDC gave us a call. Sigh of relief. And really exciting when we won.


Check out My New Non-Rate, one of the other entries, only got an honorable mention but I think that it should've been more. They just didn't understand it because most people have never seen my new haircut.

man you would never want to meet a submarine sailor, we use the words petty officer as an insult same with shipmate, and who ever has the most fucked up uniform is usually the guy who is counted on to get the job done the most, then again we dont work in a tidy office, submarine work is pretty dirty.
