I decided I wanted to learn this piece because after watching the film Titanic, I thought that the composition was one of the main reasons the movie gave off a sad atmosphere. The actual song, "Hymn to the Sea", by James Horner to me shows a lot of Irish roots considering the fact that it contains the Uilleann pipe which Is the characteristic national bagpipe of Ireland. James Horner I feel really captured the overall theme of the titanic. The song remains a song that will bring a tear to your eye even if you have not seen the movie. I learned the entire song by ear by listening to the composition. God bless...
