  • Another great vid - I notice Spoornet is now Transnet Rail Freight (see spoornet website for new logo). How long until there is ANOTHER new livery in SA? I say bring back maroon & yellow!!

  • Yes I quite like the new logo. My bet is the locos will stay blue with the new logo in white. Transnet has accepted a tender from EMD for 212 new diesel locos which will all have the new logo.

  • Pah, 4 electric locos to haul twenty-odd wagons of ballast........... Class 25 would have done it with one, or at the least double-headed. The Rhodesia Railways 20th class would have shifted this with one loco, as they did with heavier coal trains.

  • I just had an orgasm watching that train. Witbank is still a dump though.

  • Keep your eyes on the locos out of Pretoria Transwerk to see what the new look will be. The 18E now coming out of re-builds will no way have the Spoornet logo. Also the freight wagons coming out of Bloem transwerk.
