Find it interseting that Americans want things to IMPROVE but ANY video on YT that show the ugly truth is either removed or voted down into the cellar! Smells like hypocrisy to me....

"If waterboarding does not constitute torture, then there is no such thing as torture."

In order to determine whether or not "water boarding" is indeed torture, Vanity Fair's Christopher Hitchens decided to do the most logical thing: experience it first hand.

The entire terrifying account is truly worth the read. It's also important to remember, as Hitchens explains, that his experience would end the moment he wanted it to and that he would be returned afterwards to his rather privileged life; not some dark cell for an indefinite period of time under the harshest of conditions. Whether or not one thinks the United States should be using this "technique" is (I guess?) open for debate. What's not, however, is the fact that it is torture. Can we all agree on that already, please?

And in case you needed anything more to feel outraged/ashamed about today, check out this story from The New York Times about where the

Gitmo "interrogtation techniques" originated from: The military trainers who came to Guantánamo Bay in December 2002 based an entire interrogation class on a chart showing the effects of "coercive management techniques" for possible use on prisoners, including "sleep deprivation," "prolonged constraint," and "exposure." What the trainers did not say, and may not have known, was that their chart had been copied verbatim from a 1957 Air Force study of Chinese Communist techniques used during the Korean War to obtain confessions, many of them false, from American prisoners.

SO WHEN DOES THE BUSH CABAL GO TO JAIL?

Hey National Representatives of Assassins Todd:

How much Faux Noise Kool-Aid does one have to swallow to get as Reality Impaired as you are?

Search for Mancow waterboard here on youtube.

He was another Repugnican troll who used to pollute the airwaves defending torture and the Cheney Presidency. Right around the time Faux News started the whole: "It's not torture" meme that the White House fed them.

Mancow did it to shut up opponents. Watch the clip-then you'll shut up like he did.

  • TORTURE !! SHAMEFUL THAT AMERICA IS DOING IT, OUR GOV SUCKS

  • @iamspid3rman many times it's done to innocent people for so long that they confess crimes they did not commit. (like the witch hunt in the middle ages)

there are very few terrorist, they are individual lunatics, and you give away your freedoms and human rights of the whole nation so that you can feel safe about this invisible threat. fuck you and your stupid violent nature.

  • Some people just don't get it. I'm amazed at how brainwashed some people are. They see nothing wrong with the way things are going, yet they continue to walk off of the cliff without looking left or right.

  • @StevenBee2 we do it to our armed forces as training for some select groups. yeah it sucks but you are not getting beat, you are in a mind game that many people can't win. I don't see it as torcher and i think only an idoit who has no clue to what we are fighting againt will say that it is. so next time you want to think about what is right and what is wrong do and see how they treat their women and daughters. that alone is justification in my eyes.

  • I'm sorry who gives a f_ck if it's torture or not? it works. But furthermore, we're not doing it on children or damn puppies, we're doing this on terrorists or at least people who are withholding key information to security of this nation. We are just making America a bunch of pussies.

  • its torture!! there is no other way to look at it!

  • @dznutzz626 You're not describing justice, and you're certainly not describing effective interrogation - you're describing vengeance. Look up Waterboarding on wikipedia, and see the CIA operatives & psychiatrists who state how they were getting good intel from the POW's using traditional techniques, but after torturing them got nothing volunteered, and when pressed only got the answers the victims thought the torturers wanted to hear - that's absolutely useless.

  • @Woessner1101 yeah, torture is a tried & proven method of interrogation... that's why the Spanish Inquisition was such a resounding success for burning so many self-confessed witches.

  • He lasted 5 seconds, which is typical for most who can voluntarily end it. Hitchens has nightmares from 5 seconds, one time. Khalid Sheikh Mohammed was waterboarded nearly 200 times in secret by people hostile to him, for up to 45 SECONDS or more each time. 1) tell me how this isn't torture 2) tell me how his confession can be considered believable. 200 waterboardings & I would have admitted to being the mastermind behind 911 too.
